DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE NEW FLOOD MAPS?
As a Camden County resident, it's important to know about changes in your area. The Camden County Commission has recently been a part of making updates to the flood zones in our area. This change can help save thousands for many Lake of the Ozarks residents. If you own property in the area or are involved in the real estate industry, it's important to know about these changes. As a landowner in the area, your location being in or out of the flood zone may have changed. This can save you each month on homeowner insurance premiums. For all real estate professionals, it's important to know about these new guidelines as you help people find and purchase their new homes in the area. Take a look below from a statement by Greg Hasty about the new flood map and how it can impact the real estate industry at the Lake of the Ozarks.
We have NEW FLOOD MAPS, adopted April 18, 2018.
The Base Flood Elevation in the Niangua and Little Niangua Arms of the lake was LOWERED!
This REMOVES many homes from a flood zone.
However, there is a company issuing a "FLOOD CERTIFICATION " that is NOT BASED ON AN ACTUAL SURVEY which is showing MANY HOMES in a SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREA, when they are not!
This company is providing a certification to lenders that is incorrect and lenders are notifying homeowners.
I'm already working to PUT A STOP to this.
If you receive a notification, please contact Camden County Planning and Zoning for instructions.
This is why you need someone in the Commission office that knows this Lake and Camden County!
Now that you have the inside scoop on the new flood map, you can keep your eye on outside factors that may try to fluence this change. Greg Hasty knows the county inside and out and wants to make the area an enjoyable place for all - especially our residents. It's just one of the reasons why he is a great choice for the upcoming Camden County Commissioner election. Vote For Hasty!
