Hasty Runs for Re-Election
Greg Hasty has officially filed to run for Camden County Commissioner for a second term. He feels like he has made great progress so far and wants to keep the ball rolling for the betterment of the county. Lake of the Ozarks is near and dear to his heart and he wants to make a positive impact on the area! Check out this recent press release to learn more about Greg Hasty's run for re-election:
"CAMDENTON – Camden County Presiding Commissioner Greg Hasty will run for a second term to continue the progress the county has seen under his leadership.
Hasty’s re-election campaign will focus on Promises Kept.
During his successful 2014 campaign, Hasty promised Camden Countians that he would bring cohesion to a fractured county commission and address issues with planning and zoning and floodplain maps that were costing the county hundreds of thousands of dollars and threatening the property of residents.
Those matters have been resolved and the county put on a path to a brighter future.
“I have done what I said I would do,” Hasty says. “We have a fully functioning, cohesive commission. We have confronted the federal government to secure the property rights of waterfront homeowners and we are revising planning and zoning codes to reflect the realities of our county.”
Hasty has led the County Commission in authorizing the first significant pay raise for county employees in a decade while at the same time instituting conservative, fiscally responsible budgeting and spending practices. An adjustment in bond financing for $4 million in desperately needed repairs for the Justice Center will save the county thousands of dollars. Funding for the Horseshoe Bend Road District that had been improperly canceled has been restored. Lawsuits over planning and zoning that were piling up hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees have been resolved through negotiation in the county’s favor.
With an eye toward building a solid foundation for Camden County’s future, Hasty called for a full-scale state audit of the county’s books. That audit is now underway.
“I want to continue to serve the people of Camden County and work toward a better future,” Hasty said. “Camden County has been my family’s home for seven generations and I want to see the county prosper for the next generation.”
Hasty, who has been a surveyor for more than four decades, served as Camden County Surveyor for 18 years before being elected presiding commissioner. He has been a Camden County business owner for more than 30 years and served on the Camdenton Planning and Zoning Board for a decade."
